Exkal Digital Twin Scientific Article Publication

This scientific article, published in the journal Thermal Science and Engineering Progress, represents a milestone for Exkal’s corporate R&D unit (GLS), as it is the unit’s first scientific publication in a high-impact international journal. The work addresses the development and validation of a Digital Twin for a self-service refrigerated display cabinet, being the first study that makes it possible to obtain the temperature distribution inside an open horizontal refrigerated cabinet.

Thanks to this research, it has been demonstrated how small design improvements can lead to significant reductions in energy consumption and greater thermal uniformity of the product.

Publishing these results in a prestigious scientific journal implies that the study has undergone a demanding evaluation process by independent experts, consolidating GLS not only as a user of technology, but also as a generator of new knowledge, strengthening its credibility among companies, public administrations, and competitive R&D programs.
