The VITRISH Project aims to develop a new range of sustainable horizontal commercial refrigeration cabinets, specifically designed to improve the preservation of fresh food and fourth and fifth range products in supermarkets. This innovation aligns with the latest European energy efficiency regulations.

Our new models of commercial refrigerated showcases are designed to offer significant reductions in energy consumption, complying with E-type labeling according to the Energy Efficiency Index (EEI).

With this project, we strengthen our leadership in commercial refrigeration innovation, offering solutions that optimize energy performance and favor food preservation.

The ZERO PLASTICS Project focuses on the research and development of sustainable packaging solutions for fourth and fifth range products in the agri-food industry. This project seeks to eliminate the use of traditional plastics by promoting the use of biodegradable, recyclable, and 100% recycled packaging that is environmentally friendly.

Our goal is to create sustainable non-plastic packaging that maintains the organoleptic, functional, and nutritional properties of food throughout its shelf life, minimizing waste and contributing to a more sustainable food supply chain. With these new solutions, we aim to lead the transition to a greener agri-food industry, supporting the reduction of environmental impact and improving the efficiency of fresh food packaging.

EXKALBOT introduces an innovative food regeneration system, based on Individual Quick Freezing (IQF) technology and vacuum, fully automated. This sustainable solution is designed to guarantee quality, safety, and consistency in the food transformation process, offering efficient and flexible handling for varied menus, including local and regional products.

Thanks to its intelligent telemanagement software, the system allows for easy remote control and optimal maintenance, ensuring continuous 24/7 operation. It also contributes to the reduction of food waste through its cold preservation technology, making it a cost-effective and efficient option for the food industry.

EXKALBOT offers an automated solution that optimizes food processes, improves sustainability, and facilitates the regeneration of fresh and high-quality food.

The EFIMARK AI project focuses on the research and development of a smart energy management tool for commercial refrigeration units. Using advanced machine learning and reinforcement learning techniques, the project aims to optimise the operation of refrigeration equipment to reduce energy consumption, whilst maintaining the quality, food safety and thermal stability of the stored products at all times.

The aim is to develop a self-learning system capable of autonomously adapting the operation of the refrigeration system to product load, environmental conditions and demand patterns, thereby achieving a reduction in electricity consumption, greater operational efficiency and a reduction in associated emissions. Furthermore, the knowledge generated will enable these smart solutions to be extended to other areas of energy management, contributing to more sustainable and efficient commercial refrigeration.

The ALIMPACK project focuses on the research and development of innovative sustainable packaging solutions and advanced preservation technologies for fresh food in the fruit and vegetable, meat and aquaculture sectors. The project combines new packaging made from recycled and recyclable cardboard with smart cold and hot preservation systems to extend the shelf life of food, ensure food safety and reduce food waste throughout the entire value chain.

Our aim is to develop systems capable of optimising temperature, humidity, air circulation, atmospheric composition and interaction with functional packaging to reduce microbial growth, minimise food waste and improve the efficiency of food distribution and marketing. With these solutions, ALIMPACK is driving a more sustainable, safe and efficient food supply chain, promoting the circular economy and reducing environmental impact.

MUEFIREC is an innovation project led by EXKAL in collaboration with GLS and LUREDERRA to develop a new generation of more efficient and sustainable refrigeration units.

The aim is to reduce energy consumption in commercial refrigeration through new technologies, such as advanced coatings that prevent ice build-up, improved insulation systems and solutions that utilise the equipment’s waste heat.

Thanks to these improvements, it is hoped that electricity consumption will be reduced, the environmental impact minimised and food preservation enhanced.

Through initiatives such as MUEFIREC, EXKAL remains committed to innovation and to a more efficient, sustainable and future-proof refrigeration model.
